E is for Easter

Easter is a wonderful holiday where we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord!

Also, this Easter will be the first church service of Faith Assembly's new satelite location on Remount Road...I'm proud to be a part of the worship team for the new location....however I most likely won't be at the first service because I will be spending time with my cousin's at our annual cousins reunion.

As kids, we always remember spending time at Granny and Grandpa's house on Easter enjoying a big family meal with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins then having a big egg hunt.  We have decided, now that we are all adults, we should carry on that tradition, not only to keep in contact with our cousins who now live far away from each other, but also that our kids will enjoy a childhood of memories with their cousins as we did with ours!  I love my cousins!

This picture was taken in my grandparents basement...a favorite place for all of us...I'm the one on the far right.

D is for Disney!

I was finally able to take my first trip to Disney World this past September...it was everything I hoped it would be and then some.  Of course I always wanted to go as a child, but I don't feel like I missed out on anything having to wait until adulthood to go.  I enjoyed it so much and I can't wait to go back.  It truly is the most magical place on earth!  The food, the parades, the characters, the rides, the shows, the fun!!! And nothing could top meeting Mary Poppins in person :) I love DISNEY!

B is for bicycle

I am enjoying riding my bike again after neglecting it for a couple years. I'm not much on distance but my goal is to be able to bike to my sister's house (4 miles) before it gets too hot to do so.

A is for April

I have wanted to start blogging again...even just a line or 2 a few times a week. To get me back on track, I'm going to do the A to Z blog challenge.

A is for April! What a beautiful month! The April showers have come and washed away all the yucky pollen. The weather in the lowcountry has been perfect! I think this may just be one of my favorite months :)

Life Lessons from my Dog

We recently got a new toy for our dog, Sabrina. It is a little rubber basketball that squeaks...and she absolutely loves it! She totally ignores her other toy now, one that she thought was filling her needs, but not nearly as perfectly as the new one! Now let me tell you a few things about Brina....she LOVES meal time and she will tell you everyday when it is time to feed her, but when she got this new toy, she was at first reluctant to put it down even to eat! She also chose to play with the toy rather than beg for our food at dinner time also (and she usually never misses an opportunity to ask for our food too!) This toy has also made her fearless. She will crawl through chairs under the table, stick her nose in bags, jump in the bathtub, dig behind the window blinds....all things that would have normally freaked her out, just to get her toy. Brina is also scared of thunderstorms and she usually lies on the bed between Danny and I panting like crazy while the storm rages on....but last night, during one of the worst storms we have had in a while, she took her toy and lay down on the floor by the bed...still scared but a little more brave too. She will pick it up and take it with her from room to room and it's never far from her when she sleeps.

That's kind of how things are when we have Jesus...he satisfies our needs, he gives us strength and courage we didn't even know we had, he comforts us and protects us, and even when the storms of life are raging, we can sleep peacefully, knowing that he is right there with us and will never leave us.

"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

"I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8
